It seems that school holidays are affecting what Addi and I can and cannot do at the moment.

Yesterday I decided to take Addi out to Robina Town Center Shopping Center and unlike our normal visits, two levels of the car park were totally full. We luckily got a park after not too long of driving around but boy oh boy were there a few people there!!! We really aren’t used to that, on a normal day we can happily stroll around the shops without too much trouble.

Then today I finally decided that I would take Addison to our church (Southport Church of Christ) play group that they have every Thursday morning. We got ready and dressed, packed Addi his morning tea and jumped in the car. We live only a couple minutes drive from the church, so we jumped in the car and off we went. On the way there, I had this sick feeling…what if it’s not on as normal because of the school holidays!!

I knew that our church had after school care and holiday programs. Sure enough, I was right…it wasn’t on because of school holidays. It’s just so typical that the moment I actually remember about it on time to get there and go, that they don’t have it.

Since we were already dressed and out I thought we should do something, so once again I thought we could brave the shops. This time I headed to Westfield Helensvale. Addi fell asleep on the way there, but it was still early so there was plenty of time for him to get involved in the activities that they have on for the school holidays.

I asked one of the girls running the craft session at the shopping center if there was an age limit, and she said as long as he can colour then it shouldn’t be an issue. Plus I could come in and help him too. The craft activity was colour in and decorating a key chain of Alex the Lion from the movie Madagascar 3 (which has just come out). Addi did all the colouring on the key chain, and I helped him with the glitter glue. I think he did a wonderful job!!!

We then decided to have a look around the shops at the toys, we also enjoyed a good ol’ caramel milkshake (Addi’s favourite). What a fun day we had!!
