The Sound of Silence

This took me back to all the times I had gone to do something, thinking Addi was quietly playing to return and find something I shouldn’t have…paper towel unrolled, tissues pulled out of the box, something torn up, zen garden sand everywhere!, jucie on his trains, water on the couch…

I thought this was worth sharing to remind everyone that I don’t share just the good, positive things about my little ones!! Addi is just like any other toddler, he has his naughty moments (thankfully not too many). Perhaps this is a topic we should talk about soon, how I handle moments like these and what I’ve learnt from trial and error?

I don’t post about every little frustrating thing that happens on a day to day basis but they do happen just along with the daily giggles and smiles you see in my photos. I just like to remember those happy times more as they are the important ones. Not if I had a mess to clean up (heck, when don’t I have a mess to clean up!! That all comes with the job!) or Addi had a “two year old moment” (as I like to call them).

Of course, these events are mostly about little boys exploring so it takes thinking ahead to see the house from their eyes and what they might think they could do with it. And then as they get older, they can join in the clean up. I found the riskiest time was when I was on the phone. This was a cue for my boys to get up to something with Mum busily occupied for a while. My sister had even more fun with her toddler twins as they put their heads together for something like taking the carton of eggs out of the fridge and enjoying watching what happens when you throw each one on the floor! Or alternatively head in opposite directions in the house and each find a mess to make! Ah those were the days.

You are so right! Addison rarely does anything that is naughty. About the only things I find frustrating is when I have asked him not to do something and he still does it. But all in all, I’m pretty lucky!! Thankfully, as it sure does make looking after a little bub like Preston much easier! I bet twins get up to so much…their entire lives!! plotting together haha!!
