When Addi gets given something new, I never push it on him. He is either interested at the time or not, but I always know that he will eventually discover and explore it in his own time. This book was no exception.

Gran gave it to him as a Christmas present and at the time there were so many other things that he was given that got his attention instead. Now that he has had time, today I saw him open up and look at the book. I could see he was loving it, giggling away as he explored each page.

Wouldn’t it be great if the lady who made the book could see Addi enjoying it so much? These books were made by women in Asian countries learning sewing skills to support themselves and coming out of abusive situations. A missionary brought them to our church and I knew Addi would love one. Yes, children do seem to discover things in their own time.

That would be great!! I’m so glad that he is enjoying it!!! I recently watched a video online about a project that a jeans company is doing that is similar to this. They get women to sew the jeans and pay them a proper wage, teaching them a skill so they don’t have to become involved in other less wholesome activities to make ends meet. It costs the company more, but they see it as worthwhile since they are helping so many women.
