After making a party hat for Preston to use at the joint rainbow themed birthday party I decided that I would make something similar for Addison. Instead of a party hat I thought I would make a crown instead. I made it to fit in with the rainbow/hot air balloon party theme, the same as Preston’s hat.

Addison's 3rd Birthday Crown

Addison’s 3rd Birthday Crown

This crown is made using fabric from spotlight and backed with iron on stiff interfacing (the stiffest I could buy, again from spotlight). The silver clouds and number three are cut out from foam glitter adhesive sheets (picked these up from a dollar shop). The rest is ribbon. There is a ribbon at the back on either side to adjust to the correct size. I’ve backed all material with the interfacing and also sewn around it too. I’ve used a hot glue gun to attach everything to the crown.

This is my own pattern that I will add to the blog eventually for those that want to make my own. It was quite simple to make and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Can’t wait to see both the boys with their hats on.
