If you are observant you may have noticed there is a new menu on the website. This is something that I’ve been sharing the news about over on our new Facebook page. I believe I was put in this world to help others, whether it be my own children, friends, family or complete strangers.
If I had a job title and description in life it would be “Helper of Others, when in need call Melissa, she will help you with what you need”. Sometimes I actually find myself with so many requests from other people for help with things that I tend to forget about the things that I need to get done for myself!! But you know what, at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter as everything gets done eventually. It might not be on my ideal timeline, but sooner or later I get there.
Part of the reason I have this blog is to help people. Often I have thought, why don’t I charge for everything that I do. I see endless websites selling all the sorts of things that I offer for free. Then I think, why should I when I know that it is helping others. After all, I enjoy making and sharing my creations – whether it’s a new pattern or design, or just a fun recipe that I’ve stumbled across and I really truly believe that everyone should be able to have these things for free. Everyone is trying to make a buck these days instead of just doing what they love and sharing that love with the world.
I do realize though that people have to make a living and provide for their family, I suppose that’s why I try to promote small business. I know it’s all just word of mouth but maybe a business that I talk about on the blog will be of interest to someone. Anything to help 
My most recent idea is to share one of my loves with you. I’m sure you have gathered by now that I adore party planning and part of this is designing and making all the little “printables” for parties. Not quite sure what a printable is? Well they are all the little things that you see at a professional party such as banners, cupcake toppers (used to decorate cupcakes), drink bottle wrappers (to personalize drinks at a party), straw wraps (to decorate straws with little flags), all the little bits and pieces for party favours (pillow boxes, treat boxes, thank you cards and tags), plus all the other things that tie the party theme together and give it that flare. They are also the way to make your party personal by adding your child’s name and age, plus anything else.
In doing some research for this idea I took a look to see what was on offer as far as free party printables and found there were quite a few online, but they were only small packs with the basics. They also only had ready to use printables and not ones that could be customized (adding names etc). I want to offer something more! I want to include everything that people could possibly want to create their perfect party. I wanted to have parts that were both ready to use, or able to be customized for those that wanted to add their own special touch.
So this is what I’m trying to do. It’s a huge job, so I’m starting with just children’s birthday parties. Eventually I hope to expand into all sorts of parties such as baby showers, gender reveal, adult birthday parties and even seasonal packs. The seasonal packs will of course be much smaller and directed at what would be needed to host the even, but these would be available for things such as Easter, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, etc.
First things first, take a look at the new menu and you will see exactly what I’m offering. It’s all for free, for personal use only. Download and print them, make them up and have a great party!! I’ve only added one pack so far, but have already started working on the next, hoping to get out quite a few party printable sets in the weeks to come. Enjoy!
