Today Nanny, Mummy and Addi decided to go for a walk to the corner shops to take care of a couple of errands and pick up a few things. It was the first time that we have used the pram and left the house with Addison, so it was bound to be a learning experience.
Our first hurdle was the driveway. Our house has quite a steep driveway which we decided that it was best for Mummy to carry Addison down in the sling, with Nanny pushing the empty pram down.
We got him all set up in the pram, loaded up the nappy bag and got ourselves organised. What a hot day to venture out of the house on our first outing. We may have just been walking to the corner shops, not that far from our house but it sure felt like it was a much longer walk in the heat! It sure was a relief to get to the air conditioned shopping centre. We got what we needed from there, next was to cross the road and head to Spotlight.
When we arrived at Spotlight Addi was starting to get a little fussy and hungry, it was looking like we wouldn’t make it home without feeding him there and then. Not really having a parent room or anything like that, we had to just set up on the bench for a feed. So not only was it our first outing in the pram, but our first feed in a public place. Once Addi was ready to go we made one last stop to pick up a plant for Wilbur’s (my gold fish) tank, then we made our way home.
If we thought that getting down the driveway was a challenge, then you should have seen us trying to get back up! We made it, but were totally exhausted and very hot and sweaty. What an adventure!
In all the excitement we totally forgot to take any photos of the first pram ride, but I’m sure there will be plenty more to come…after of course when we recover from today :).
