I have been trying to pack my hospital bag and get ready for the arrival of Addison over the last week. As you know Charles and I went late night shopping last week and picked up pretty much everything that we needed still for Addi after opening the gifts from our guests at the baby shower. Today mum and I went shopping mainly to get some important things for myself!

It’s all well and good to make sure I have everything for Addi, but if I don’t have what I need for myself then we would have just as big of a problem. I decided to buy two button up tops today that will be useful for when I’m breastfeeding (luckily Rivers were having a sale so I got some cheaper than what I could get feeding tops for). I also needed some button up, summer PJ’s for hospital which we found some perfect cotton ones from Kmart.

Mum and I were also on a search for a toy for Addison… see it always comes back to Addi!! This might seem straight forward but it really wasn’t. I wanted to find something that would be entertaining, interesting, that played music and had a clip that meant I could move it from his pram to hang above him as a distraction while I change his nappy.

After walking from one end of the shopping center to the other, looking in store after store for a toy that would do all of the above we finally went back to the first store we looked in (typical,  I know). We somehow missed seeing this doggie the first time we were in the shop, and found that it suited all our needs… so we got it.

Addi's Toy Doggie

Addi's Toy Doggie

I was so excited to get home and show Charles the cute dog for Addi and play the music (pressing the flower in his hand makes the music start), you guessed it… it wouldn’t work!!! So this is the third baby item now that I have to exchange.

The first was the baby bath tub that mum bought me as part of mybaby shower presents. We went to put it together and found that it had two support feet the same. The second was my missing terry towel flat nappy, which by the way I sorted out today and got my missing nappy. And now this toy dog is the third. They say things happen in threes but this is getting crazy. So now I have to go exchange the toy doggie for a working one.

Apart from the fact that he doesn’t work, he still meets all my needs. He (when you buy a working one) plays music, the bone in his hand when pulled vibrates, he’s bright and colourful, has ears that make sound when touched and a clip on his back to hang him where you want.
