Today we went to the Pregnancy, Babies & Children’s Expo held at the Brisbane Exhibition Center. There were so many people and so many exhibitors, it was a little overwhelming. I did find this a very daunting experience.

I came to the expo today to find out some information about some topics, in particular  prams, cloth nappies and really just anything that might be of help. But it was so hard to get any information with everyone buying for the attention of the people running the stalls. They were just too busy to help that amount of people, all there attending the expo for the same purpose.

I did however get quite a bit of written information on anything that grabbed my attention. This meant that I could go away and do my own research and visit the websites of products that are of interest. So it was still worth going but I am glad that I got free tickets from my obstetrician’s office as I don’t think I would have been happy paying to go since it was so frustrating to find out what I wanted.

The exhibitors did have quite a lot of products that were reduced in price especially for the expo, unfortunately we weren’t really in a position to spend any money. I’m sure many people got some great buys though!

I was unable to get the info I wanted about prams so we decided to go into one of the shops that were exhibiting at the expo on our way home to see our luck there. But they were short staffed (yep, you guessed it, because of the expo) and they were over run with people that clearly had the same idea as us. So I walked out of there feeling no more informed than when I went in.

About the only thing at the expo I was able to really learn about and get a bit better of an idea what I want for Addison was the exhibitors displaying a variety of modern cloth nappies. I had just recently been researching these a couple days before and the staff at the stalls were able to answer so many questions and demonstrate how to use the nappies. However, I’ll talk more about my nappy decisions in a separate post.
