It would seem that not every kid likes to blow out the candles on their birthday cake…some are actually scared of them. Admittedly there were quite a number of them on the cake spelling out Happy Birthday, so I can see how all those flames could be daunting!
Nevertheless we sung happy birthday and enjoyed some chocolate cake. Addi enjoyed the smarties on top more than the cake itself..but that is to be expected when you have chocolate at hand.
Despite all the troubles with baking the silly thing, it tasted really good! and was cooked beautifully. Just a shame about the leaky pan, otherwise there would have been more of it to share.
