Today I am 21 weeks pregnant and am feeling really good. I’m at that middle part of the pregnancy where I’m not too big yet that things are really uncomfortable and well and truly past all of those early symptoms of pregnancy. Even my sinus trouble seems to have settled down which makes sleeping through the night much easier, this is great news for both myself and my husband! I’ve also been able to cut back on getting up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night which helps further with a good nights sleep.
Addison can now hear us as well, so this is very exciting and despite the fact that I’ve been talking to my belly since day one it’s nice to know that he can now hear me! Apparently this is a really important part of his development and when he is born helps him to recognise those important people in his life…mummy and daddy of course! I’m not quite sure that Addi or anyone for that matter would want to hear my singing voice but I will definitely be playing him plenty of music and I will read out loud, not to mention continue to talk to him.
After Addi is born we will continue to have music in his life and as I write this I’m sure Charles is researching the best equipment for his room, only the best for our little boy!! I have to say it was rather embarrasing when we explained to the sales staff that the sound systems/speakers we were looking at were actually for our baby’s room :). Nevertheless, there is no point in doing a half job of it now when really it is something that he will grow with and music really is something that people have in their lives…well…forever.
